    First Bream on SP

Now i know this isnt probably very exciting for a lot of people but after many years trying i finally caught my first Bream on soft plastics. It was only a little model but long awaited. Now to go out and get a legal model. Good to get the monkey off my back. It was caught on a 2.5 inch gulp prawn in cocktail.

Good on ya mate, they can be very tricky little buggars to catch at times, other days they will hit anything you throw at them. I used to fish for them in the Brisbane river using small curl tail and paddle tail grubs.

My first bream on a placcy is still a favorite ...... it was a good fish caught under tough circumstances but non the less regardless of size it is still a capture that stands up against many others in my own mind

cherish it ..... and may it be the first of many

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

That's good mate. I know the feeling. Got my first snapper on sp last week.
    All very exciting.
You will now use them all the time.
I do and love them. No more smelly bait.

    Cheers

Thanks guys. To tell you the truth up until this point I had thought about throwing the plastics in, but there is no way I'm giving up on them now. I think I might have to go and buy some more plastics now. Every colour under the rainbow.

Still a plastics virgin, here (except prawnstars years ago for flatties/jacks/cod).

    Good fish, mate. Two questions:

Do they work at night under no lights?

Are they still effective using light mono?

    Cheers,

Yes, they work well at night. Mono has to much stretch for me to work the plastics effectively...
