    Early morning Cobe

Hey, went out yesterday morning for an early session with 2 mates. Plan was bottom fishing then whiting/squid and flatties on plastics before home. Anyway left Scarby about 4 and headed out, second drift and fifth cast for the day and a nice cobe. Ended up with a sore arm after 42 minutes. Thanks to all those who offer info as I'm one of those poor suckers who gets stuck at work all the time.

Not sure mate, no big scales but it went 1.67m in length.

The brand new little 4000 Diawa must have a pretty good drag as it was a constant give and take battle, spooled with 30lb fins it had a lot of fluff coming off getting on the bail roller and the first eyelet. Not sure if this is common but I have not seen it before landing 1m plus Barra on new line. Think I might get a gimble belt today, will use that sore spot as a shopping reminder. Thanks

Awesome Cobe! I have yet to rack a Cobe up. Any tips for a Cobe virgin? Livies or plastics? Jig head size, plastic etc or live bait rig info be good. Amazing to get a fish like that on a 4000 reel! How long was the fight and what type of rod handled the job?
