G'day all, just wanting to get into a bit of spanner crabbing after the ban. Can someone give me a hand with areas to drop a pot out off Maroochydore area?( I wouldn't hate you if you pm'ed me general gps marks.
Also any idea where to buy a suitable replacement mesh and what size mesh works best?

Not too sure anyone will give you their favorite crab spots, but as a tourists to the area, I have never failed to get at least a feed of Spanner crabs by just "having a go" I am pretty sure there would be hot spots, but have a bit of a go and see what turns up.

I used to get them as bycatch chasing sandies in a line SE from the caloundra bar spread out over 2 miles. Drop them out on the way out to chase a few macks then pick them up on your return. Lots of current there to be mindful of.

mate if you head e past murphies into 50m, sandy bottom,you will find them.

Thanks for the replies.you get amoungst a few sandies there jack? Ive occasionally seen pots in that area
