    Day out on Amego

Went out on Amego today thanks to Kev Gold coast fishing tackle having to work. Great start to the day with a Blue hitting the shotgun at 7.10am. Unfortunately his bill got between him and the hook so a hook up didn’t follow. Not long after came the first of many yummy by catch’s, which included a 25kg dolly and a wa hoo that would have pushed the scales to 20kg. In between the by catch somewhere came a Blue that ate the lure properly and shortly was tagged in particularly good condition. Only have pics of the dolly, the rest of the time I was kind of busy.

This fish hit the lure so fast the hook had to be removed from it's stomic, no kidding.

Trolled out of the gold coast in about 200fm. all fish came after we targeted bird activity and a pod of pilot wales.

    25kg Dollie, 20+wahoo, whoa, now that's what I'd call a real by-catch!
Great colours in that first pic!
Is the Amego a charter, Mitch?

The Hoo was caught on the same lure pictured, (Short Simmo) It also had the most activity on the day at shot gun, but a "Marlin Industries" lure got the Blue.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
