looking for poddy mullet or herring in Mooloolah river

    Hi,

can anyone tell me a good spot to go to find either poddy mullet or herring in the Mooloolah River (and maroochy river if you know). I can use a cast net or a jig. I've tried around mcKenzies bridge from the edge with a net and around the boat ramp with no luck.
    thanks

You want herring. Cast on the jetty at the boat ramp. It needs to be dark on a running tide.

Will add, I used to jig for them years ago(80's) at the jetty with great success. Yep, night best time on moving water, found either tide was good, not in strongest run of in/out though.

Cool Re: looking for poddy mullet or herring in Mooloolah river

if you go to the end of parrerra channel near mckenzie's bridge there is a wier there and on the other side of the wier there's a jetty and every day big schools of herring school up their

(parrerra channel is right behind #####DO NOT MENTION THIS COMPANY NAME ON THIS WEBSITE. THIS COMPANY STOLE IMAGES FROM THIS SITE AND USED THEM IN AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all sports and if you follow the road down further it comes of to kensigton park and on the left of that is the wier about 200 metres away)

use a cast net its a lot easier
