I camped at washpool one easter, and never again. People draging firewood past our site all night till early hours. Also car radios thumping till daylight, swearing, brawls, and chainsaws cutting firewood all weekend.
As for the dogs, leave them at home. If you want to take a dog, go find a sucluded site somewhere. I recent went to the Twin Waters beach where dogs are allowed. There was dog poo everywhere in the sand. We spread out a towel where we thought there was none. Next thing the grandson was digging up a freashly laid sand coated nugget, ready to put it in his mouth. Another mut came up to us and droped one just besides us. We were ready to kick the next mut that came near us. Also dogs fighting with each other. Like old mate said previouslly, next thing a pigger with a pit bull will come along and start draging little Johnny or Fifi out of his tent and ripping them apart.
We have two huge English bulldogs and I would even think about taking them to a camp site like Washpool. Maybe a secluded site on a private property, bepending if they had livestock or not.
Tight lines <*)(((((((((><
I am not trying to say that, but would you be happy if the campers next to you did bring their pit bulls or english bulldogs and ripped your pooch apart, because thats what hunting dog do. Of course its up to the owners to look after their mut responsibly. I have seen dogs go balistic if the owners walk away and leave them tied up at the camp site and bark for hours. Im not saying all dogs do, but if there were 100 campers and 80 of them brought their dogs, and even if one of them was a killer or barker, it would be a very unplesant weekend if camping.
I am a responsible camper and dog owner and I would rather leave the muts at home.
Only takes one F'wit to spoil it for everyone. And last time I was there, no on-site caretaker. The ferals moved in and carried in all night.
Dogs? I'm at the point of putting out baits around the campsite when I set up. Won't be a problem for those who keep there dogs on a lead but I am sick of the fools who don't have their dog under control.
Chaz
So did any of those with problems report them to the council or Police??
The reserve is a no dog zone. The council would have sent one their compliance officers out I'd reckon.
The local Police are great people. They don't want problem people. The local Police use the dam and camping areas as well. They would act.
As for putting baits out. Your a dill (some would even go as far as calling you a fool). Plain and simple. Do you know how trouble you can be in for putting baits out?? What would putting baits out achieve?? Do you realise how long it takes for an animal to die from a bait?
Have you thought about what would happen if a Guide Dog or similar type of animal took the bait you had set out??
Now your statement is preserved for posterity if someone, or any animals, are hurt by baits.
They now have a starting point.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good
Did you follow up with the council??
Did you follow up with the Police??
When did this happen?? Who did you file a complaint with?? Council, Police or both??
I'll follow up on it myself as the Council Chambers and Police Station are less then 2km's away from home and I have nothing better to do but try to make the places I relax at a better place to relax.
All I need is a rough date.
What did I spell wrong??
What are you going to do if I did spell something wrong?? Poison Connelly Dam??
We are all allowed an opinion. You had an opinion that it is a good idea to purposely harm animals because their owners do not control them. Is that the fault of the animal or the owner.
Putting baits out is a stupid thing to do to try and control somebody's dog.
Did you think about the animals you may hurt by putting baits out??
Do you know how much legal trouble you would be in by putting baits out??
Which is the worse sin. People purposely harming animals or people purposely not controlling their animals??
What you are wanting to do is to rectify an illegal act with another illegal act. Makes sense doesn't it??
Your of the opinion this thread has been spoilt. I'm of the opinion this thread is not spoilt.
We now know what sort of person you are.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good
You tell him finga. If he was any sort of man, he would politely go over and ask them to stop their dog from barking, not set up a bait. If they were playing loud music in their car he would also go over and ask them to turn it down, and not put a fire bomb under the car. If the guys wife was arguing with hubby, he would ask them to keep it own, not punch her in the mouth. So why would you set a bait for a dog that barks.
Give me a river bank in the middle of nowhere any day.
