The Daintree showed how a weather change can really spark a fishing frenzy last weekend.
Friday night my brother and sister in law caught well over 30 fish with the Tarpon being almost a nuisance. They were big too at up to 3 kilos. Over a dozen legal Grunter were caught and released as were 4 legal Jacks, 3 legal Fingermark and some nice river GTs. Only a couple of bigger GTs and 4 big Grunter to 51 cm were kept.
I went down with them the next arvo and the wind picked up and the rain came. We got almost 100 mm after dark and the fishing changed. It didn't completely shut down but only 2 Jacks, 8 grunter, 4 GTs and about 10 Tarpon landed. We had to fish harder to get a lot less fish.

Another highlight were the new Penn Conquers spooled with Berkely Nanofil. Great reels and the Nanofil was impressive.
