Well Headed out the SPB around 5.30am and was met by a relatively calm ocean. There was still about 10-12knots of Northerly blowing but it dropped off by 9am. We filled up on livies and headed out to Sqaure Patch to try and find some kingies. There is a lot of bait around at the moment, we searched the pinnacles and couldnt find any Kingies but did pick up a large Bonito feeding on the bait schools that were 30m down. Damo (Black Rat) picked up a squire and we kept moving. Headed to Tempest and once again lots of bait. By now it was very calm so we went out to the 140m line where we found an isolated reef but it was hard to fish in that depth with yesterdays conditions as we couldnt get the drift consistent due to changing conditions. Either way picked up another squire after 3 bloody long drops.
After this we went to Tangalooma to have a look and made a few plans as far as meeting place for Saturday. Decided the sand was too hot and went and cooled down with a few ales and a burger at the resort. In the afternoon we came home with a 15knot Northerly on our back and an average bay with 1m of swell. All in all a great day out in paradise, oh yeah nearly forgot Bruce threw up on my boat for the first time!!!
We were greated at fisheries at Curtain Arti who gave the boat a going over before having a beer with us and heading off.
Lots of Km's for not many fish but it was a day of exploring.
