    Phenix PHD 760HD Build

Just finished another Phenix Spiral Wrap
This one Has American Tackle Titaium Guides
Pac Bay Channel Lock Alloy Reel Seat
And used a rubber Gimbal on this one being a bit more user friendly

Nice work Willo, very cool stick, havent seen the colour through the grip like that, obviously a lot of time and effort goes into these.

    Nice looking stick Willo.
Interesting cross wrap too. I mean that in a good way!
Haven't seen one quite like it.
Did you follow a pattern, or just wing it?
    Cheers,

    Yeh Mate just winged it
Gold Silver color scheme was requested .so just layed down a Metalic Silver underwrap and winged a Diamond Wrap with Gold /Silver
and used a.. Prowrap Twist... silver /Black as a trim

    Willo,

Very neat work there mate, Its good to see guys giving it a real go. I have also noticed that with each build you have improved that bit more.
Let me know when you need some work.

Just another point in relation to photos, and trust me I hate taking them. It would be better to have a white background instead of taking them outdoors. A white background showes the detail much better.
So maybe a white sheet or paper outside with the rod resting on that.

Brilliant work again Willo! But where do you find the spare time??

Also, how do you broadly rate the Phenix blanks? Are they top-of-the-pile material, or are they mid-range quality?

Mate I rate the Phenix Hybrid Blanks that I have been using as top range quality ..there a very impressive blank..soon as most people try em they want one...
I have just got a Phenix 15-40lb BlackDiamond Blank for myself . These are a different construction to the Hybrid Blank ...so keen to see how it goes.... but just playing with the Blank seems great.... But will know more when I try it out on the Spanish Macs..as soon as I get it built ..LOL..Still got one more rod to do before that though.... But alot of good things being said about Phenix Blanks overseas.....havent heard any negative feedback as yet

Thanks for that Willo. I've spun up a couple of Phenix blanks for friends so far and they felt like they were top-of-the-pile quality. Was just after another opinion to back up that view. Cheers.

I like the grips, well the whole rod really ! and the gimbal, how long have they been around ? much better than the hard plastic gimbal with rubber cap that I've used on a couple of rods. The cap always goes missing...

Think they have been around for a year or two in Japan, etc.. but have just seen them recently appear on Rod building supply sites
