    Abstract Rod build

Just finished building myself a new bait rod
Had fun mucking around with eva abstract inlays on the grips and spiraled the wrap on the rod to compliment the grips
The red on the guide and wrap is from the Bullards Brites range. and didnt use a Colour Preserver .

    Great stuff willo!
A bit of EVA can make the world of difference!
Have you tried the Bullard metallics for your olive branches?
I'm doing one at the moment using Madeira metallic which is fine for most wrapping but I'm struggling to stop it unwinding on the ob's

    Yeh Owen
Experimented with those Eva Inlays just cutting up a standard eva grip instead of a block....Not all that easy with a grip ...LOL.. think I will stick to the Eva Blocks from now on...LOL
Havent tried the Bullards Metalics as yet but plan on gettin some
I have had trouble doing metalic olive branches as well with some brands ...found that the softer metalics worked better for me ...so sort have stay clear a bit of metalic OB's.. LOL
But know where ya are comen from with them unwinding...LOL

Very nice rod Willo , I like the olive branch , can you tell me what size thread you use for them , I have been using size A but it doe's not seem to stand out as good as yours and I too have used different metalic threads and am still trying to find a good one , I used Gudebrod pearl white that came up real good , but it is hard to get a photo of it , also I sort of wrapped to different colour A threads together to to get the leaf and that also worked good , I think I have some photos , when I get time I will post them , it was a practice run .

To get the OB to stand out a bit more,...double the thread in the twist and when you barnish it ..it flattens it out a bit more as well
Just been using A size at the mo but might start mucking around with same size C as well
Metalics give me a hard time in the OB so been doggin the metalics a bit in the twist....LOL
