Hi all, i would like some advice on the effectiveness of using any type of surface lures in Moreton Bay. i am addicted to them, love using all types from poppers to pencils but i am struggling to figure out where in my own back yard they can be used with any effectiveness. Can any of you share any successful experiences using surface lures in Moreton Bay? i'd love to hear what species you were able to raise and what depth of water you found them in, etc.

Re: Surface Luring in the Bay
Don't agree with you Justin!
I regularly fish surface lures in the bay, mostly in under 1m of water around the bay islands.
Species caught include bream, dusky flathead, sand flathead, tailor, trevally, pike, longtoms and a couple of unstoppables...
Small offerings and light lines seem to work best.
Cheers
Pete

Re: Surface Luring in the Bay
When the longtails are active poppers will work on them but a slug always seems a better option to me. A great popper target is the schools of Tailor that frequent our shallow reefs around the Bay islands and areas like Cleveland Point and Wello at certain times of the yearA Proud Member of
