Re: Gulf / Savannah way
Great area mate. Was up there in 04 and went from Lawn Hill up through a scrub track to Doomagee then onto the Savanah Way. Didnt do that much fishing at the time but we stayed at a wollogorang station and you could drive out of their property all the way to the coast. Didnt have time to do it but I reckon it would have been a pretty remote spot. Lots of creeks and rivers to explore if time and conditions permit. I am jealous.

Re: Gulf / Savannah way
Looks like my plan is heading to Woologorang Station on the NT/QLD border and fishing the Tully inlet and surrounding areas leaving Bundy around the 4-7th May. Just waiting to confirm permission from Stew to access the creeks through his property. Otherwise not sure on what I will be doing, will post up when it is confirmed, but the time of the trip will be the same, two weeks from around the 7th May fishing somewhere in the gulf or up the western side of the cape...Not long now boys... Kev. :-)

Re: Gulf / Savannah way
Wollogorang access is out for us, Now to decide on another location, I have fished the Pennyfather north of Weipa and Karumba, As this thread requested, anyone else know of some great spots to fish. We have fully self contained camping supplies so the destination can be very isolated, 3 blokes, two 4x4's, one tiny and lots of dreams..... Any advice with regard to weather patterns and runoffs greatly appreciated, happy to travel anywhere, leaving Bundy 3rd May and have 2 weeks off work so let us know where we can go to have a geat time, most fish will be tagged and released, its just to spend some time with a mate as this is likely to be his last trip away due to his health. Cheers Kev.
