I've just moved to East Brisbane, just down from the mouth of the Norman Creek. Is it worth a look for a fish? If so what can I expect to catch? What's the best time/tide? Best bait/lures etc. Also is it worth dropping a pot in?
Yeah the mouth will produce fish at the river.
Bait can be any lightly weighted dead bait for bream or live prawns or herring will also work.
I have only ever gotten snagged down there, but people have caught Jewfish,Threadfin and most other river fish.
Bullsharks too, I would go dusk around high.
As for the creek itself I am not sure.
Give Bulimba yacht club a try at evening on high, I have caught some whoppers there 1m+ threadfin and the Jewie in my avatar was caught there this year on live prawn.
Unweighted dead prawn, not thrown out too far for bream and cod.
