    Mick from Hervey Bay

    Greetings members.
My name is Mick, I'm originally a country Victorian (big murray cod basher) who now calls Hervey Bay home.
However, I live in Hong Kong at the moment, only return to Hervey a couple of times a year as have property there.
As my user name suggests, I'm big into muscle cars, namely falcon GT's and have one original falcong gt, xw, and also 3 of the export models being 2 xy fairmont gt's and another xw fairmont gt, along side all the blue ovals is my HT GTS lime green monaro.
Look forward to reading and learning alot from you all as I'm preparing to come "home" in the not too distant future and will obviously get into boating and chase the fish off fraser.
    Regards,
    Mick

Cheers Funchy, yeah, lived overseas since 95, am now 37 so a fair old whack of the life spent off aussie shores! Really looking forward to "returning" and I've enjoyed my holidays in Hervey Bay, and the house has been set up with thanks to the old man (lives in my new house there for 7 months a year).
Have a tinnie but it won't cut for what i will be wanting to do!!!!
Really just want a better work/life balance, miss the green grass under foot, fresh air and peace and quiet!
Plenty of people in Hervey Bay targetting the scalies which has been good too as have had a heap of advice etc.

You'll have a fat time in the bay Mick. Dont let the tinny go, you might need it to do some crabbing up the Mary/Susan or at Burrum Toogoom etc. I think they have a fairly strong cross country basketball team there too, or they did a couple of years ago. Due to all the vics that have moved there I think. So you'll be able to join the bombers and there's plenty happening there. Make sure your house is wired though. plenty of kids with not much to do...

    Thanks Sheik.
Yes, I know all too well about the "kids" but it's not just them, the adults with unregistered cars that seem to check out your house for rent is also a problem.... the problem being it isn't for rent, so why are they in my backyard!
Have awesome neighbours, and yes, the house is wired, booby trapped etc. I can actually see 3 good areas of my house via my pc in my office in Hong Kong, a quick call to the neighbour across the road who is a cop puts my mind at rest too, the image is rather clear in my shed even in low light.
You're right about the punt, the problem is space, as i hate leaving anything out in the elements!!!
Hervey is a bit of a retirement place, but it suits me for the life style i'm looking to chase.... along with the multiple types of fishing on offer!
