I caught this just under 50cm Golden Trevally today in pretty windy conditions up at Caloundra and it was the first time fishing I have had in a year. It was a great amount of fun and I honestly didn't know what it was but a bloke told me and bled it for me. I would have just taken a picture and released it but anyway. It was great fun to catch as a first fish after a year of no fishing. Frozen prawn. 4kg mono line and an old and cheap Penn rod and reel. i also caught a 35 cm "happy moment" I didn't know what that was either but it put up a fight even though it was foul hooked in the back.I didn't know what it was until after I wrapped it in my tea towel and unhooked it to set it free
glad I didn't get spiked.
Was very grateful that another bloke fishing was around to help me Identify the fish and help me out. Thanks.
