2 species with claws!

so i set 4 pots yesterday afternoon on the dead low after wading out of cleveland hoping for a few sandies for the parents and to my suprise got 17 nice legal crabs, also on the way back through the mangroves managed 6 nice big muddies for the grandparents using the old hand technique... i love my crabing i just wished i liked eating them might have to start trading crabs for bait hahaha

mines not hahaha i just cooked the friggin things and my girlfriend is winging she has no room in the fridge now

JJ I suspect your problem is with the girlfriend and not the fridge, who on earth would whine about a hundred bucks of super fine seafood in thier fridge?
Install a new volume control in the GF and set it for inaudible.

well done mate..hope to be crabbing in the next day or so..have herd the sandies are starting to pick up in numbers.have been a bit slack this year on the crabbin front due to the snapps still being caught offshore.better pull my finger out and drop a few pots

Just a quick question. Can you use a long sleeve shirt to assist catch the crab. I mean stick your hand with an oversize tshirt. Crab grabs the shirt and you pull out. If you keep your hands on the floor of the hole. The crab should not nip you.

That's all theory. I use to stick my hands down crab holes but not now.

muddies will usually let go or drop a claw once they've grabbed something so they wont be pulled all the way out unless you have hold of them, ive been doing it a long time so have worked out my techniques for safest aproaches but nothing is bullet proof, being bitten is like having your hand in a vice as tight as you can have it and hitting your hand with a blunt axe.

hahaha love you work JJ the malcom douglas style. I agree tunaticer, sounds like the GF is the problem not the fridge. Hahaha my wife wouldn't sook if managed that many crabs, but most likely would if I lost my fingers to them. I'll leave that up to the guys who know what they are doing. tight lines

I think the problem might be the fridge, if you doubled the size, then you could fit double the amount of seafood in there!

i think she figures if i get my own fridge she wont have an excuse to stop me crabing and fishing... i know why they call them anchors

im going to wire these crab shells under your car dillian, if your lucky ill give you a few i got another 22 this afternoon which is crazy because one pot got nicked and i only had the other 3 pots out
