    Piney

well i have had some ordinary trips the last few weeks. started to p me off. anyway managed to get out this afternoon in the Piney today. went up river to get live bait. Returned down river a bit and did some drifts with a bridled live mullet left in the rod holder and spinning with prawn imitation softplastic. managed to pick up a flattie pretty quick on the prawn. another drift saw me lose a nice flattie on the prawn at the surface when it spat the hook. some surface activity made me change to a jackall plastic and i hooked up instantly to a legal tailor. good fun, left them alone though. did a couple more drifts and scored a small jew 33cm. gently released. Then something with a bit of weight grabs the prawn, good big runs and dogged fight saw it was another jewie, in the net at 70.5cm but still undersize, bugger, so gently released. put the live bait rod away as it was in my way. i didnt need it. Another drift in the same area see me connecting to a tarpon. gave a few good jumps and good fight for its size. Casted back to the mangroves and scored another nice flattie of 64cm. great conditions to be on the water. good active day for a change.

    cheers fellas
