Fished alfs reef and a bit a ground a few kms north all day for a bag of small Trag, very slow, a couple of under size squire and a few rubbish fish. Mate lost one horse that cut him off on the bottom but no idea what it might have been. Fishing bait only. Could see the Trag on the sounder and some other nice shows on the ground that rose from 170ft to 150ft but the bite was really slow. Lots of undersize trag which the Dolphins appreciated and were smashing before they could think about getting to the bottom.
Bar was quite lumpy with a couple of metres swell, had a look early with the runout and returned to wait for the change, had a fish in the mouth and spoke to a guy who had been getting the odd jew on livies inside the bar in the past few weeks.
Thanks for report. I've been fishing similar area last few weeks and the snapper have really seemed to slow down there. Been getting same results as u last few weeks. What was water temp?
Sorry didnt think to check temp of the water, still learning to drive the new raymarine. Im hoping to get out again next week and hopefully try it then.
