Recommendations on a medium priced fish finder

    Hi,

need a new finder. Don't need anything overboard. But something that works well in deep water (off Tasmania).

Furuno would be my first thought for deep water basic sounder.

Very hard to beat a Furuno FCV620 for value for money and performance. Very easy to use also, and the auto fish mode does a pretty good job if you don't wish to fiddle with the settings.

    Cheers,
    Myles

Bought the Sitex SVS 650 from cascade gps for $550 US + TM transducer and postage, total $800 AU when the dollar was 93c. Slightly larger screen and higher pixels than Furuno 620. Had it for just 12 months and very happy with it.
