    Bribie crabs and tings

Launched at Spinnaker Sound at about 6.00 a.m. and dropped the crab pots in my favourite spot. Pumped a few yabbies and went looking for some summeries while waiting for the crabs to do their thing. Couldn't find much at first and only had one nice whiting by the time I ran the pots after two hours for 8 keepers and a few jennies and unders. Tried a few more spots on the sides of the banks and finally found a patch of whiting. Ended up with about a dozen quality fish - best was 40cm and a few were 30+. Only caught three undersize ones plus a few small bream and three stingrays. Whiting went quiet again on the top of the tide so I gave it away. Picked up the pots for another three keepers, all in one pot - might have been a few share farmers about! Quit about 11.30. Nice morning although the south-westerly was blowing pretty hard most of the time.

How is the weed up there. Is it fishable in the passage yet.

that's some great whiting there freeeedom, beaut work. i too reckon the whiting fishing this summer will be good, they've been hanging around all winter here in the caboolture river, no 40cm models but plenty of 30cm ones. the weed moved them around but they're still there.

Round about 5 metres Tunaticer. Was my first shot at the crabs for this summer so I was quite happy with the result.

There was a bit of weed about Landy1, but it was fishable. Most of the weed is macroscopic red or brown seaweed with very little of the snot weed left. The crab pots tended to gather up some weed in the tidal run but not enough to move them as sometimes happens up there.
