1st chance to get up the sany straits since july. Fished around the moonbooms and Ungowa with mullet and pillies for zip. Sounder was going off at 12 to 13 m but no-one catching anything, they were there but not eating or surfacing. Back down past Yanky Jack on incoming for a nice cod and a couple of Tailor. Not good for about a 10 hour stint but the weather perfrct. The cod spewed up something in the net that absolutely stunk, on checking it was a 1/2 digested rat, great, these fish went to the neighbours, but ill try poppers there next time.
Back out Sunday before the shop opened so pumped yabbies, netted some herring and hary heads and off for another session. Only babies around the moonbooms so out into the main channel for only 2 squid. Back to the islands as tide changed and couldnt hang onto anything, smashed every time exept for 1 small mack. Great 2 days but few fish.
good to see you still going up there for a fish ,has beena bit quite we anchered off the ledge near the moonbooms a few weeks ago and got bricked also got a few tailor trolling the edge of the dropoff
