I have a hydrastar break unit that has an issue where the black supply wire to the unit has a short on it. When i connect it to the car it still works fine .The black is the constant supply + to the unit anyone with any experience with this type of unit would be good or if anyone has had a similar issue.I would like to hear about it.
I have one and it also works fine. Suggest you get it checked out and to that end, where are you?
Depending on your location the people who installed mine may also be able to check yours for you.
Cheers
Chimo
What could go wrong.......................
Contact the guys at Direct Source Australia, they are the Australian sevice agents for Hydrastar.
Here is their web site. http://www.hydrastar.com.au/home/
Hope that is of some help to you.

Make something Idiot proof and they make better Idiots
Hi Rusty,
I have quite a bit of trouble with the hydrastar. So I might be able to help you out.
The hydrastar.com.au web site is a bit misleading as Direct Source are not the service agents. They are one of the importers, Dunbier are another. Carlise require the unit to the returned to the place where you purchased it. I was stuffed around for over 2 years trying to get it fixed, being passed on from one place to another.
I ended up pulling the unit apart and fixing it myself.
Definitely confusing http://www.hydrastar.com.au/technical-info/
3rd line down asks you to contact place of purchase re. problems, yet the 'info box' at left hand side states that service and repair is available - which links to a contact page detailing only spares; no servicing!! Hope the OP gets it sorted out promptly.
