hey once again guys heading upto donnybrook tomorrow and going to target whiting landbased. With that said does anyone know a few spots ive never been to donnybrook before but thought i would give it a try. im running very light sinker with a trace of 80cm on 4lb fluorocarbon. Just a quick question is there places to pump yabbies or dig for bloodworms near donnybrook.

Reduce your trace length for whiting to about 30-40cm if landbased. Long traces will sit at 90 degrees to your mainline in the current and give the fish a lot of movement whilst eating the bait before you detect a nibble. Whiting often move forward into the current eating a bait a little bit, reducing yet again your chance of detecting the bite.
Luckily whiting often feed in schools and will streak off with your bait to avoid competition for the food, if they are singular fish they will sit still and chew the bait without you feeling a thing.
Fishing from a boat is different as you are fishing directly down current for the most part for your whiting.
Yabbies can be found along the Toorbul foreshore with pretty good regularity.
