    Tweed jew, tarpon, tailor....

Could not take advantage of the great conditions offshore last night due to family commitments, so had to settle for the light spin rod and reel. The flatties and tailor were everywhere and a couple of tarpon and school jew to ice the cake. The tarpon with the rod in the pic was around 60cm. Kept a few tailor for mack troll baits.

    Decent catch there.
There are a lot of small Jewies in the Brisbane river atm, I caught a 30cm model in the cast net the other night.
Also I went and had a look down a Newstead park jetty the other night just to see if anyone was fishing and they were.
I asked if they caught anything and they said yes!

I had a look in the bucket and much to my horror there was half a bucket of Jewies the biggest at 30cm ... I just told myself they were river perch and moved along.

    nice mate .... nice :-)
You didn't mention the bait? SP's??
If weather holds I am taking the new tinny out to the reef Saturday morning for 1st blood :-) I have another mate coming as decky, and not keen to go 3-up across the bar yet ... so can't invite you this time around.
[ truth be told .... I wouldn't invite you for my maiden voyage anyway ... you'd be catching everything, and I'd be looking the fool :-) ha ha ha ha ]
