Do you mean horizontal? or just say 45deg?...........
Hi
Just received 23ft Hydra-sports from States.
The boat came in 40ft container on the side and it has Yamaha F250.
Fuel has been emptied but oil is not. Checked the oil level, looks OK.
Read in F250 owner's manual that engine needs to be stored/transported in upright position only.
Does anybody know, if it safe to start it up after it was sitting on its side for nearly 3 months or particular maintenance required?
Thanks a lot for your time.

pull the plugs out and wind it oiver by hand a few times, then crank it a few more using the key, after that you should be right. Add fuel and your away also a service wouldn't go hurt.

thanks for your advice.
When they were loading container, they have put it on its side
and wheeled in boat strapped to the trailer and then flipped container back.
So it was sitting horizontally for over 2 months.
Any idea on the cost of service - few hundred?
Do you known reliable yamaha mechanics on Gold Coast?
4-600 depending on parts required.

ok now for the photos and details ,
surveyor, Not much to tell yet...
Still working on the boat, hope got a good deal.
Hydra-sports rated somewhere in the middle.
Used to have Quintrex 5M coastrunner, sold in 1 day.
One of the last runs to the Banks, it took us 3 hours to get back, just got really sick of it...
Here are some photos.
