Permit - Snub Nosed Dart - Pompano

Found a interesting article by Steve Starling regarding the Permit. I have often wondered if the much sought after Permit was different or the same as the snub nosed darts. Steves offers his knowledge on the subject.

He can certainly string a few words together. Have read other articles on these fish and apparently Trachinotus.anak and Trachinotus.blochii are the two species we have. As far as i can make out the easiest way to tell the difference is,T.blochii has a black/brown edge to it's top and bottom fin and the T.anak does not. I think this one from moreton is the T.anak variety. Ben
