Zoe Bay Anchorage (Hinchinbrook Island)
Hi Guys,
We are camping at Zoe Bay on Hinchinbrook Island and would like to know what the anchorage for a 19ft fibreglass Haines is like? We will probably have a tinny with us also. Is the creek at south Zoe deep enough for an overnight low tide mooring?
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Guido

I was up there earlier this year walking the island and there was a guy in about a 17/18ft glass boat camping at the south end. He just had it tied up with a bow and stern anchor set up and was fine. There is plenty of water in the creek itself at low tide but the mouth was a different story. I think you would only get in and out with about mid tide up.
That place is awesome I hope you get in there. I will be back again next year to walk it again.
Cheers Jason

Re: Zoe Bay Anchorage (Hinchinbrook Island)
Was up there at easter, I took my 21 foot Striper in there for a look(zoe creek), aswell as in my tinny the year before.
You will get in the creek no worries half tide and above and the bay is fine in all tides, the water is very clear in zoe bay/creek. You should have no drama's at all.
The bay to the south(cant remember) has a nasty sandbar that goes out for-ever thats nasty on low tide.. so travel to zoe bay at low tide is trickey, not to mention the channel itself.
I would be careful of camping on the beach, crocs aplenty and more so as it warms up.
I be careful camping if I had children with me
