Have a flick around outer woods bay, where the current lines are. Just out the front of Ricki's.

Hey mate, I have had success on first light at this spot... If you enter into the canal area(not sure of what it's called) but the munna point VMR and campsite is on the bank on the right, head towards the munna point bridge, there is a hotel on the right as you enter and there is a dead end canal on the left. At that bend before you go into the canal is where I've got some good trev's on poppers.

If there is a lot of boat activity i have found it doesn't do well and my best trips have been out of the yak, so approach as quietly as possible.

I hope that makes sense, it isn't supposed to be code, just hard to explain.

    Good luck mate,

    Bermo

Try in Woods Bay near the rocky point where it narrows down and runs towards the Sheridan Bridge ,Get there just before first light and use bubble pops or chug bugs. Usually you will see them chopping around in that area, good luck

Stick with your 6lb mainline but you could go up to 10 lb leader, just be aware there might be a few tailor around so you could loose a couple of poppers by being cut off by the buggers
