Pioneer River 28/08/2011
Finally got a decent camera so here is my first report.
It's been a wet weekend but had a few hours of sunshine this arvo so made a last minute decision to have a quick fish. After a couple of hours in the usual spot chasing GT's with no luck I decided to walk upriver and do a little prospecting.
Ended up getting a flathead in the low 50's - stupid me forgot to bring the brag mat along. He smashed a gold Bomber Long A in water that was just over ankle deep. Got there at the bottom of the runout, so only had about 30 minutes worth of fishing - very keen to try again a bit earlier in the tide.
Also had a bit of a reminder to watch where you step - got out of the water after seeing them at my feet.

Nice flatty. You may see me out and about testing the walleye jigheads in the next few weeks (landbased) in the Pioneer River. I have a neverfail Flatty spot and keen to show some successful captures.
