    Rod tips

I always seem to be going through rod tips from being stood on or people winding swivels through them. Just wanted to know a glue that will hold them in place but wont be too difficult to get off when needed.

I have been using araldite but it is a bit difficult to get off even with heat.

    Any ideas guys?

    Marto,

Maybe just use the 5 minute variety. I know it's usually pretty useless, but in the case of rod tips, it's not really taking any (much) load, just holding it in position.

    Just my 2c worth.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Yeah 5 minute araldite is what tends to get used. Dont know about how easy it is to get it off.
Sounds like you need some new deckies!
Araldite used to do some exotics we used at work that softened again when they got over 100 degrees, but I doubt you would want to subject your rod tip to heat.

May I suggest that you replace the tip with a bigger diameter ring to allow any swivels to go through?

    Re: Rod tips

stick with the 5 min araldite it comes off when you need to replace the tip. Hot melt glue is only good for light rods eg;2-4 kg
    imo Graham
