    Question Electronic Charts O/S

    Hiya,

Am thinking of getting a Navionics Gold card sent over from USA.
Anyone know if I would be covered under warrenty?
Do the cards stuff up from new?
Do they stuff up further down the track or generally a dependable item?

    Tight lines.

    gday,

i think you will find almost everything you order from the states comes with a warranty. it is just that your warranty is not honored by the same brand here. ie. you buy a lowrance sounder in the u.s. and it stuffs up you cant claim on the warranty if you take it to a lowrance dealer in oz. if you ship it back to the u.s. tho, they will generally honor the warranty and ship it back to you at no charge. you normally have to pay for the shipping one way tho. something you should always check b4 you buy tho.
    cheers

I have found fishonmarine to have great ''customer service'' so to speak. Pat is very knowledgable and helpful. Not neccessarily the best price, but they are on the ball and competitive. The Navionics Gold All of Australia comes in at around AU$302 inc. delivery. As for copying the card I would'nt know where to start, let-a-lone trying to copy one (not geeky enough, I spose). I just want a genuine chart at a reasonable price. So are these cards generally ''stuff up'' free or???

ive had mine 2 years problem free. they are just sd cards. if you did have problems, the shipping to the states for such a small and light article would be peanuts. rob is right. do not attempt to copy or your warranty will be voided.

    Re: Electronic Charts O/S

If you need detailed marine charts for Australia you would need to purchase Navionics Gold Chart 32XG/SD for $259.95 USD. You may receive a message on your gps screen saying that you are no longer in US waters and that the gps might not function properly. This is called geo fencing and they do it to protect their overseas dealers. The message doesnt affect anything but you cant get it off of there.

We do not offer extended warranties that would work in Australia.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    Thanks,
