    Just going back to deckies point, can you actually network an Ipad/tablet into a Lowrance HDS setup. I wouldnt use it as a GPS but it would appear to be the cheapest 10 inch monitor out there. I would be thinking of networking it and just using it as an additional screen. I cant see that its possible but someone may have a better understanding of the units.

    I use Documents to Go by Data Viz on the Iconia. Very good kit. Edit word docs and other MS stuff. Good keyboard but it's the only tab on the market with a full size USB so plug in a keyboard and type away. I have a car charger and cig lighter in the boat for it. Cheers

    This may be an option for you if the ipad is too susceptible to vibration

    Im very keen to run a simlar type of setup on the formula its just so much more cost efective
