    Donnybrook

Fished the run-up for a couple hours today. Plenty of action. Used 80 odd yabbies with lots of whiting boated. Only 3 keepers and a lizard.

Suprisingly - no bream. Interesting given Pinhead's lack of success this year. This spot usually fires for a few. Something certainly changed - maybe after effects of the flooding.

Still - nice day to be on the water - after the rain stopped lol.

Curious about this missing bream thing this season.......has anyone seen any large schools swimming up past Skirmish Pt this year?? Usually when they are running as normal, any boat drifting in that vicinity will see a school or two swim by anywhere from Red Beach through to Woorim. I know the Wells has not schooled up this year either as it should. But then again, the weed appeared nearly a month early too.

Yes Greg - it was a pain in the bum.

And schooling fish - the 3 dolphins we watched feeding had something schooled. They were going ballistic 20 metres from the boat !!! Great spectacle.

Glad there's plenty of action up that way Gunna.
I went out to Ningi area on Wednesday for 12 bream (27cm - 33cm), and 1 flathead at 63cm.
Worked hard for 4 hours then went home - the slimy weed is an issue down this way too.
    Cheers

I will be back again in the morning so we will see if another day might tell another story.

    Re: Donnybrook

Yeah like Shane said the tailor around Mud have been smaller, bigger ones but fewer around Redcliffe, and I agree its all different due to the floods maybe, but its fishing and thats what tests the metal, gets us out of the comfort zone and gets us experimenting and trying new areas.
But whining about it never changes anything, seems there are bream around like Fishbait said, and plenty around Redcliffe as well. I have favorite flatty spots that I cant even nail a bite in now as well. Suttle differences in bottom structure, sand moving and covering rubble due to extra currents, changes the floor and fish just relocate to where the action is.
Glad you got some Gunna, I havent been up to the Brook for ages, with big winds forecast, I guess I should take a run up there. Hope you get some Sat.
    Cheers

I fished between toorbul and donnybrook this morning for 1 flathead and a bream, legal flathead very hard to find, actually ive noticed that flathead over 55cm make up about just 5% of the flathead catch, anyone else finding this as well..
