Where is the Best Place To Camp On South Stradbroke?

    Hey Guys,

A few of my mates and I are lookin to go camping in the next month or so and was wondering where is the best place to camp for a few nights.

We both have access to a boat and know the broadwater relatively well but have never camped out there.

Hoping for a place that is a bit secluded from others so it feels like proper camping, but i guess not super far from toilets for the girls.

Also, whats the go with booking/paying? Can you get away without paying? (We are planning on going in non peak/non school holidays time)

    Thanks Guys!

OK WaveBreak isl is free but no toilet/showers...Currigee, camping area on south straddie, closest to the seaway, has toilets and showers and a small inlet to park the boats...its not a Big 4 caravan park but just for a fishing weekend it aint bad. In off peak just go set up on one of sites and the ranger will find you. The rangers for south Currigee is steve and sue and a really nice ppl.

Thanks for that wayno, Yeh not sure the girlfriends would be keen on the no toilets at wavebreak. So at South Currigee do you know what the prices are? and also are the campsites relatively spread out or are they close together? Thanks!

North currigee is the one with the inlet
That's the best one for the fisho you can often have the place to yourself
You dont have to park in the main channel and is much better for your boat
    Toilet and showers were ok

South currigee is more a family place with a play ground

Do a quick google on it I'm sure it's not to expensive

You can also camp up at tipplers there is a council campground there

Much better facilities at tippler but think it costs more and can get a little busy

Again do a google plenty of info on the council website

Take plenty of pest spray and mozzie coils

    Good luck
