CamHawk,
Perhaps it is you who has to learn to read,
"Secondly the fight was played out on the radio and I personally know a bloke who overheard some of it while fishing the comp"
So lets do some sums, guy Fishing, 1 (more likely the deckie ), guy on the radio narrating the event, 2, guy who heard over the radio and relayed to you, 3, you relaying it to me, 4.
1st ,2nd and 4th posts, Questions or statements??
So Cam, I am leaving it there, No horseshit, no accussations.
Far from dense my friend (spose thats debateable), I will leave that you.
Regards
Honda.
I know these guys and its a legit capture. They spend alot of friday and saturday nights out berleying for sharks ( about time they discovered billfish I reckon! ) and have made some awesome captures in the past. No one in the Karratha gamefishing community questions this capture.
Tigers are a good shark spieces to target on light gear because they have a habit of coming to the surface which gives an experienced crew the opportunity to take the leader and sink a flyer. Whether you agree with this method or not it is within the GFAA/IGFA rules. Not much different to backing down on a marlin.
Also the area most guys target tigers off the pilbara coast is mud flats out from creek mouths in a couple of meters of water. The tigers come in there chasing stingrays and blueswimmer crabs , so if you quick enough and don't have to much respect for your gelcoat ( these boys are fishing from a V19R ) then you can get an early gaff shot. I believe on the east coast the guys chase their tigers on the shelf?
The other tiger caught during the comp that was also a world record claim was 27kg on 1kg line by another angler and crew I personally know.
Congratulations to these guys on the awesome captures. This is their one weekend of the year where they actually try and gaff one of the sharks they regularly target. Backs up the stories they tell through out the year!

So the guy watching the shark being caught with his own eyes and commentating on the capture is now considered to have second hand information?
OK that seems as logical as the rest of your arguments on this topic.
Pointyfish, if you see Grasso around tell him Cam said gday.
