    Fraser tailor season

Hey guys heading up to fraser again next month round the 14th for a tailor stint, last few years ive noticed the tailor sizes havent been anything to great, with one every so often here and there. Anyone been getting 3kg plus fish? if so what month and time are you heading up? cheers for the reports.

hey Jman we head up the second week off september every year for the last 22 yrs and i can safely say the size is increasing every year, i caught 4 kg fish last year and saw 4 fish over the 6kg mark. the photos were at orchid beach shop absolutey horses, this can be confirmed by another ausfish member as deefa 6 was there and saw them. i am going the first week of october this year as the locals recon that the biggest fish turn up in october but september or october and youcan be assured of a great week fishing and big fish but you got to work for them.

we caught most of them between 3 and 6am at the peg north of indian head and betwen 5 and 8pm same spot. all fish over 4kg were caught on crome slugs even after dark, i didnt believe it but believe me and all were taken in 2 foot of water. the big fish came in over the sand bar on high tide into a very shallow gutter and feed right up tothe end of it, as i said 2 ft of water on chrome slugs at 8 oclock at night. incredible fun and a sight to be seen.

thanks kel yeah we have been heading up for a while, we change our time every so often to see if the fishing changes. We sometimes head up start of october as they open the beach/rocks north of middle rock. We have fished that spot north of middle rocks before and cleaned up on big tailor was a great morning just had to be able to throw far enough of rocks to get the school. there is a no fish ban 100m south of indian and 100m north of middle rock until the first of oct. Keen to get up there in a month or so and chase them for another year, nothing beats the week away fishing, drinking all day and not hearing the misso for just a few days haha love it.
    cheers

The closed bit is 400m south of Indian to 400m north of Waddy. Covers all of August and September.
