Minn Kota Endura C2 30 Freshwater
We decided to down size from the tinnie and just bought 2 x Viking profish 45's and was thinking about putting one of theseMinn Kota's on the back .
i was wondering if anyone is using this model and are you using it in saltwater i know they are sold as a freshwater unit but my understanding is that the main difference is the freswater unit does not have the anode on the drive to prevent corrosion what if i mount an anoide onto the unit would this work and if the unit is flushed and cleaned properly ? what do you think as these seem to sell for about $100.
interested in your views .
Cheers

Re: Minn Kota Endura C2 30 Freshwater
I have a Viking Tempo with the "freshwater" Minn Kota. I fitted a sacrifiial anode for under $10.00. I have been using it in the salt for over a year (sometimes three times a week). I simply rinse it off under the hose after every trip and spray all exposed metal with Inox. I have removed the prop several times to inspect the shaft and there is no evidence of corrosion there.
Having said that, when I do replace it, it will be with the saltwater 40lb thrust , just to get a bit more "grunt" against a heavy chop when it blows up in Moreton Bay.
