JO Nova seems to be running with the idea and I just got a spam email with the "return to sender" idea so it seems to be "goin' viral" =)

The Getup site has this suggestion as a campaign and it is getting a few votes.....
Maybe add your voice (vote) and they will either have to make it a mainstream campaign or shut it down.

As expected. Getup took it down (getting plenty of votes too)...so I put it up again, and they took it down again, much quicker this time, so I put it up again =)
So much for the Getup charter of "participation in democracy for all Australians"...provided you are one of the "all Australians" who agree with their views. What hypocrits.
I must now be red flagged. My "suggestion" does not even last 5 minutes so I put up a suggestion that "Getup follow its charter and allow participation in democracy"....That didn't last 5 minutes either. Bit thin skinned I'd be thinkin'
what about putting your religion as anti carbon tax on the census or in some other area LOL
I just got mine today KC, but there is no return address on it so if you mark it RTS it will just get dumped. The address on the envelope is the printer which is required by law. I did hear on the radio about a campaign to re-address them to Greg Combet but you do need to attach $1.20 postage or again it will just get dumped.
Cheers
The idea is already doing the rounds. Got it today several times in chain form on the work email.
Vegetarian - Ancient tribal slang for the village idiot that can't hunt, fish or ride.
Unfortunately however, it appears that without a stamp, they get dumped and uncounted at your local post office. With a stamp and Gillard or Combets address they will actually get delivered...clog up their PO box with millions of them would certainly be worth the 60 cents!
Needs only be J. Gillard PM
Parliment House Canberra

It is going viral

I like the comment of sending it to Tony Abbott - good political stunt to say get dump trucks full of these publications that have been returned and pile them up in front of Labor HQ/Gillards Office/Parliament House/Bob Browns Office etc..............
Cheers,
Chris
Householder un-addressed mail has no return service whatsoever Chris, doesn't go anywhere and doesn't even get counted. The "RTS" protest campaign is more about certain people promoting themselves, like Andrew Bolt for one. They all know none of it will be returned but they're still sucking plenty of people in.
No different to when the Work Choices booklets were being returned.
Hi Mike.
I was aware there is no RTS, just the thought/concept of sending it off in another addressed envelope to Abbott to "collect and deliver" tickled my sense of humour.
Cheers,
Chris
Just to keep the balance the Howard government spent on average $1.8mil a week on self promotion for its entire duration in office.
Do the sums it is hardly a figure worth sneezing at. And a lot of this on Abbotts baby, workchoices.
Wonder if Bolt and Akerman care to remember this or even such shock jocks as Ray Hadley, Alan Jones and John Laws, they generally cut those listeners/callers off who try and raise this before they get a chance to enlighten those listeners who did not know this.
They are all hypocrites when it comes to using the public purse for self promotion aka advertising.

Well I just recieved mine yesterday and left it on the kitchen bench while I decided what to do with it.
It was there on the bench this morning when I stumbled into the kitchen. It was too cold for me (11C!!) to wander a couple of doors up to the shop to get the paper for the morning constitutional and seeing the plastic wrapped colourful brochure sitting on the bench I thought 'why not'.
So after having a read, a good laugh and a few tears of frustration, I wound up proceedings.
Except...
all out of date rolls.
So looking at the colourful brochure sitting there on my lap and the thought of wasting 60c and the time to pop down to the post office too much to bear, I thought 'why not'.
So I have managed to put it to good use- it actually finished up with less shit in it than it started with.
However the only down side is that my reluctance to part with 60c and walk down to the post office will have to be overcome as I am about to sit down and write a strongly worded letter to the government concerning the brittleness and stiffness of the paper used to convey their ill-informed policies. It may be harder to read but I think a softer, non-glossy paper would see a much greater utilisation of future publications in the manner previously described.
Not to put too finer point on it, but the upside of all of this is my arse is now more accustomed to the roughage that the ensuing pineapples will present.
Just watch out for paper cuts
