    Heart transplant a Cruise

Just updating the CruiseCraft 575 with a new 150 Verado. Oh Yeah. It went in today for it's final checks and preparation. I even got to see the new heart. I reckon it was beating at 40 knotts, in the crate.

Just have to wait now for the outcome. Maybe six or seven sleeps to go.

    Oh the anguish.

On a lighter note, I know where there is a beaut 2004 Optimax 135 for sale. All in great shape with just 500 hours on the ticker.

    Cheers

hey angla, did you find the boat slightly under powered with the 135 on the back

Absolutely not. The holeshot was great and it pushed her to 35 knotts with cruising best around the 23-28 knott range. The boat is rated from 115-150 HP so I think the 135 was an excellent choice. I just have the ability to do this now and it is a gift I have given myself to go max HP in the super charged 4 stroke. My fuel efficiency was already great at 1 litre per 1 Nm (160 litre tank) and I think I can do a little better with the Verado

I just can't wipe the dirty big grin off my face. Oh Yeah..I want to put some hours on the boat in the future and this will just make it very pleasant to say the least.

Just remember to throttle back a little when you scream past those bulk carriers off Gladstone like an F18 Hornet...

As I get older I seem to be forgetting some stuff.

Went and looked in on the blokes at Holt Marine. Guess what I saw.......mounted up and looking awesome.

It is bolted to my transom but just not cabled or wired yet. The transom was in beaut condition except for the abrasion because the original installation had no packing of any kind on the fibreglass surface.

Not this weekend but it should be on the water for testing before next weekend.

Jim, I am looking for a little bit better economy, less noise and a little more power overall.

Chris it will definately be quieter than the Opti. The fuel efficiency will depend on the way you drive it.

Just look at the weather.......... and the boat is not going yet.......BUGGER

You are probably right Wags because at top revs it will probably drink more than the Opti but in the cruising range I think it will be a smidge better

    Cheers
    Chris
