2010 Saltiga Users

Is there anybody out there in Ausfish land who actually owns and uses a 2010 Saltiga?

Yes I have read the Alan Hawk review, but I can't find any reviews from people who have owned them for an extended period of time.

I currently own a 4500H Maverick, and was thinking of getting a 2010 Saltiga 5000. And no, I don't want a Stella .

Hey Ben, I own a Diawa Saltiga S Extreme Z6500 running 50 pound Fins braid. Couldn't be happier with the reel. Well, okay could be happier if I got to use it more and caught more fish but that's owners fault. Bloody nice bit of gear, but expensive, would definately like another saltiga, something like the Z4500 (which I've seen online for $699 with free delivery) The 2010 Saltiga is selling for $1200 plus, so I would be asking is it worth almost double for the 2010 .

Yes BH, I love the Saltigas - but my S-Extreme 4500H Maverick is great for PE 4 popping, but I want a lower gear model for fighting big fish off the bottom. I didn't want a S-Extreme 6500Z, because they are a little to big, and I didn't want the S-Extreme 4500Z because 4 of my mates had them.

hi benno_r i,ve got a saltiga 4500 2010, taking to the swains next week.

I,ll let you know how it is & compares to the z6000.
