    Power failure in Humm 778c

Hi Team, ever since I installed a 778c Humminbird in the plastic boat,it goes off of its own accord, RE; in choppey water,or weather I hit a wake and it doesnt have to be at great speed or even if I adjust/tilt/move the screen, it has even happened on the trailer.I have tripled checked connections ,and even "adjusted' the holding brackets the wiring sits in at the rear of the unit !! ANY thoughts/help ??? Cheers

Had the same problem with my 798. Seem to have fixed the problem by adjusting the brackets that hold the plugs (touch wood). Have you checked inside the plugs for bent prongs?

strewth is right. just about guarantee that is your problem. the power connector that plugs into the unit becomes loose after a while particularly if you are removing and reconnecting the unit regularly. i took my power cord to a dealer who tested and said i needed a new lead. it didnt fix problem. all i did was used pliers to gently squeeze power cord plug ending to make it fit tighter over the connection. not a problem since.
