    Question Brissy River help

Hey guys, was hoping to take the boat to work on Friday and head straight out after work to the river around the port area. Was wondering if there has been any live bait around the area lately or places where I can grab some during the week?

Was also hoping to target jewies through the afternoon/night but haven't really targeted them before in the river. Any tips for baits/rigs/plastics for the area or close by would be awesome because I’m already psyching myself up for the trip!!

    Thanks guys.

best place to get bait for jew would be out at luggage point where the water flows out of the sewage treatment plant (the shit pipe) or up boggy creek. Out the front of the shit pipe you just cast right up where the water comes out. I was there yesterday and there were big mullet around there everywhere, great for a monster Jew! There is normally all sorts of bait hanging around there. Up boggy creek there are often big schools of poddy mullet up under the foot bridge, maybe 50metres up from the ramp there are big schools that sit just a few metres in from the water edge on the gently sloping banks. watch out for snags there though, there are a fair few in the water. If you get onto a school there you can get 50 poddys in once cast but they are usually pretty small.

Awesome, hopefully there will be a bit still hanging around.
Have you ever fished in Boggy creek? Looks fairly good up there.

yeah it looks good but it's absolutely terrible. I've never caught anything good, but have put in the hours. The best I've ever got was a bream or two. I wouldn't waste my time in there.

If I were going out to fish the mouth I would probably start getting bait at the shit pipe rather than heading straight up boggy. depends where you launch from I suppose. If you launch from the boggy creek boat ramp (just a dirt ramp) you'd be better off just walking up stream a bit and casting off the bank so you don't get your boat covered in mud trying to cast from the boat.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up!! I'll give boggy a miss straight up, could have been bumming around in there a while :S

Hopefully the wind dies down again like it did today, and the fish are ready to play!
