Exclamation Humminbird 787c2i on stessl edgetracker

I am having trouble getting a clear sonar return at any speed over about 18kmh.
Have moved the transducer many times but still only little improvement.
Has anyone solved this problem ? All help appreciated

    Mate ,
The blokes that know what there talking about usually call for some photos now. Is the bottom face of your transducer tilted foward, the back should be slightly lower than the front.

plastic, i have the same unit as you but have had no problems with sonar return. perhaps you have some electrical interference? did you coil your leftover transducer lead as per the instructions? apparently this alone can reduce electrical interference. just a thought. otherwise it should come down to either being too close to the prop or not lined up well between the hull strakes.

    seahorse,

my installation instructions showed doubling up the lead from the centre and coiling up the slack that way rather than just starting at one end and coiling. i didnt do this when i first installed dual beam transducer but i noticed it when installing quad beam transducer recently. i never had problems either way myself.

thanks netmaker i will try that.
is your boat an Edge Tracker as it seems the amount of air under the hull could be causing the problem when on the plane.

    Hi plastic
Had the same with my old edgy had to move the tranducer out to the first flat of the floor inside the larger edge v ,then I had soner return at 43km/h ,I ended up with holes every where to and i did not trany mount plate was in the transom .it is air and turblance making it happen
    good luck
