No more freeboard and plently on grip under the waterline.

They are not a bitch to handle on the ramp.
My trailer has guides within the tunnel that make it a very easy boat to handle at the ramp.

    Have you actually used one?

No disrespect intented - but yeh I fished out of one on Lake Eucumbene ( a 460 from memory) a high flat sided boat like a webster does catch the wind ( I 've watched a couple struggle on dams ..... Incl Matty Mott) - That grip under the waterline then becomes a burden on the leccy & you really need a 36vlt system .
As for the ramp ...... same again ( drive on is Ok) but trying to handle it on your own in a crosscurrent or wind becomes a problem if you have to leave the boat on the sand / ramp etc.
Not really the kind of boat that I'm looking for ....... want something that is still a relatively low profile & much quicker

    Re: Cross over boat

Have been looking for a boat that covers close offshore/bay/eastuary for sometime and recently found it.

I met a pro glass worker who had what I think was originally an old Proline mould and had built his own 5m centre console. Finish is impecable and cannot be faulted. Went for a ride and it loves the bay chop. Had a chat about $ and depending what you want it is very economical.

He's now working on an open style boat for me now and should be finshed late August or early September. Will get to putting up a thread with pics of the build process in the coming weeks.

    Cheers

Glass is the way to go, first choice would be a galeforce.

What is available in the way of a boat that can be used for luring in the estuaries ( or dams) but also have the ability to get out in the bay and deal with the unfriendly chop of Moreton Bay ( anchoring if need be)
4.5 - 5M .... Side console (possible centre) with a good forward and aft casting deck (plate / pressed or possibly even glass) - A big donk would not go astray....... fast is good if I needed a long run up a river.

anyhoos - I know you guys would have some ideas on brands & models to look at

    Chris

Mate if your after a tinny my choices would be Bluefin Wrangler 5.0,Seascape Kingfisher 4.82 or Tabs Teritory Pro 510.These can be highly customised especially the Bluefin and you can put good horsepower on them with bottom sheet upgraded.

    Hi Perko

Glass would be nice - but I have reservations with running up creeks with rockbars ........ towing over gravel roads etc . The boat will be a traveller - so will be towed all over the place .
Also using a boat on my own often means it gets run up on sand / gravel & even with a keel guard I would be concerned ....... hence why I'm leaning towards a plate boat.

i'm not discounting glass though at this stage

TABs wildfisher is on my list ( I like the configuration of a big casting deck rod locker etc)

Yeh , I think most are doing a top ender style boat - but they seem to be along traditional lines like the allycraft tank , bluefin wrangler , Tabs territory pro etc ....... certainly plenty of choice when it comes to tinnies

    Hey Matty,

I looked on Clark's website and could not find a Dominator 510.I know Ally craft (RIP)made a Dominator 510 side console which was an awesome set up.Do Clark do a custom?

    Re: Cross over boat

have you thought about a panga style long boat, like a hooker or a poly? they're a pretty good crossover and cheap to run with smaller power needed.
