    Platypus Super 100

Has anyone been using the Platypus Super 100 line. I'm thinking of setting up a lightweight overhead floatlining outfit with 30lb Super 100 direct to the hooks. Its very thin and clear and should present well. I'm not sure how it behaves or its abrasion resistance. Any advice would be appreciated

I have used this mono for years and apart from being rather stretchy I have found it to be the best this diameter mono available

I have used the 8lb stuff over the last couple of years and have no complaints whatsoever. The abrasion resistance has been excellent.

    Seems to go alright Horse.

I've had some 20lb on an old TSS4 for a while now, and the last time I used it, it was OK.

It's a bit thinner than Platinum for the same b/s too.

i have used the 20lb for leader on plastics for snapper and have landed quite a few also used it in the sandy straights and landed a few sharks i was looking to take some to swains this weekend but could only see it going up to 30lb .very strong line for its diameter

I use it as a leader instead of fluro in 6lb, 10lb and 20lb sizes, its good and thin, works really well. Certainly had not wear through" or abrasion issues with it.

Before the fireline days, I used super100 for all my light fishing and it's a great line for that because of the small diameter. I still use it for beach fishing and also sometimes as leader for breaming (in 6lbs). However I never really liked it for offshore work, mostly because of how quickly it twists on spinning gear and I much preferred platypus pink in 10Kg for macs and 24Kgs for cobs.

Every year that I entered the Flattie Classic you would be given a couple of spools of Super 100 in 12lb and because I mainly use lures I started to have a small stockpile of the stuff. However I decide to use it on some light surf gear for the annual trips to Fraser and am very impressed with it .As stated previous it has a small diameter in relation to its breaking strain and is a treat to use on the alvey, I now have a couple of alveys spooled up with it
