    Darwin Charter Recommendation

    Hi Guys

I'll be in Darwin in early/mid August for work.

Just asking around for recommendations for a full day Charter for me and some work buddies. We don't mind paying a little more for a good quality boat/crew/skipper.

My guess is that a day trip wont get us out past the harbour? Is this right ?

Also, what species is the go this time of year up in the NT salt ?

Thanks. I'll be sure to write up a report on which ever trip I do.

    Hi Smclaren

i used to live in the territory and rekon you cant go past the tour tub fishing adventures i know Rob (the owner ) prersonally and he gives a good day out just google tour tub and all information is there

Is there a need to leave the harbour?
Keep i nmind that there are no restrictions on fish up there except for the Barra which is 55cm min .Should be a good time and you have now made me jelouse

I went on arafura bluewater charters about 2 years ago . we did leave the harbour and went out chasing jewies and golden snapper (fingermark). he has more than 1 boat and 2 went out that day . the one I was on got into the jewies early and then went on to chase the goldies .the other one struggled to get jewies and would have started to chase goldens about 2 hours after we did . I don't know if the skipper we had still works there but his name was Justin and he was very good . don't know about the other fella though . like I said earlier it was about 2 years ago . I have done tourtub charters and if you just want to get on the water they are fine IMO only . but if you seriously want to fish then book with someone else

Depends what you want. A party boat thing out of Darwin or something with a bit more to it like with guides out of Dundee for instance.

If you want to catch BIG Barras, give Steve a ring at "I'll take ya" fishing charters. He's a high quality charter that does day tours and "safaris". His boats are specialised barra fishing vessels - the trips are a bit more personal than cramming 30 blokes on a boat and letting them go. sounds like what you might be after.

Yeah sorry guys ... I should have said that we will be looking at 7-10 people in total.

So the larger vessel will be needed.
