Left clontarf at 6am this morning, fished woody point reef, not a bite.
Then took run over to outside cabb tree ck, (well outside green zone) and got 3 whiting, ! flathead.
Tried around that area for couple hrs, nothing more.
Then took a run over to comp bouy, couple small whiting. Got a bit choppy out there, so headed back between nudgee and sandgate for 1 sole.
Then decided to give woody point a final throw for some whiting. Not a scale.
Back at ramp by 1pm.
3,4 weeks ago we were bagging out on whiting at woody point and they were monsters.
Last 2 weeks have struggled.
Mate of mine fished margate area for few hours last night and didnt get a bite.
Just cant figured it out. Can someone shead some light on this.
Who knows i went out Fri morn at the tide change to run up and caught 1 little flatty and a pike.I fished most reefs from suttons beach to scarborough on plastics, hardbodys changing jig heads, leaders whilst fishing light gear. There was a moment of excitement when a school of longtails surfaced just near Queens beach but after 6 or so casts they buggered off.Bring back Scotts point and close the green zone !
Fished the bribie passage today for several little undersize flathead and a small tailor, lots of slime in the water as well, wife fished with prawns while i cast plastics, she never even managed a small bream, and boy was it cold..
i FISHED 5am sat morning at margate for a 42cm snapper on bait just on daylight and i missed run, then at 7 am started casting plastics ended up with 2 flatties and a flounder from the first 4 casts then landed another 2 flathead then went to woody point for a quick flick for nothing back at the ramp by 8.30,
last night landed 3 snapper 37 /47/ 56cm and a 43cm bream 3 on squid 1 on banana prawn
Last Sunday was pretty miserable in the Pine River in comparison to the previous month or so. Been a very good winter season up until last weekend. No sign of blanket weed in the Pine that I could see, the water is probably the best I have seen it in 20 years.
Went out on the Bay Sunday, and found some good size whitting in the small boat passage western end (near the Rous the channel) ended up with 20 good size fish around 30cm mark. Used squid strips as bait. Fished the last of the run in at Harry' last night for zip! Not a bite, a few tiddlers and even they were not bitting very well!
Its been very quiet here in the main pacific harbour canals over the past week or so. 2-3 small bream and thats about it. Although i currently have numerous huge schools of baitfish holding up around my pontoon - Been there for 2 days now. I am talking big schools of different fish, stretching out half way across the canal, and maybe 20-30m long. But there are no tailor, bream or anything else feeding on them - not even the resident 1m+ longtoms.
Err boys its called fishing. You get these quiet patches, could be something to do with the change in the weather, the rain coming in. Dont worry tho, there are plenty of fish in the bay.
Cheers

Hi,
My mate and I went on thursday, what a beautiful morning, but the fish weren't very co operative, we came home with one squid that my mate jigged off pott's point at macleay. It was disapointing as we had yabbies and plastics on board. 3 weeks ago were were getting just legal bream (which went back) just out from thompson's beach at victoria point.
Cheers
Scott
