    Re: land locked sharks

sure they are sharks? heard this story several times over the years and they usually turn out to be barracuda or similar.

there used to be a steel grate over the pipe that feeds the lake - I assume it is still there?

a lot of people swim in that lake so I doubt they would allow 2 sharks to survive in there?

I believe that there are some sharks trapped in a couple of water traps on a golf course which backs onto the Logan River.

Yes there is, or was anyway. Also lots of other species reaching massive sizes! Ben

They drained about 1 metre, then ran a net around for a while but nothing.....

Yep, no surprise there. Joe Blow from the non-angling public see a largish fin break the water in the lake, recalls the movie Jaws and immediately assumes shark (again).

Lake is open again, but not for fishing! - http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/...ead-story.html
