Not much of a report, but took the opportunity to take my little girl out for a fish. The plan was to fish the dropoffs and reef on the Eastern side of Green Is, but seeing as though the place was glassed out, we decided to hit Harry's to see the resident dolphins, which she always loves.
Got there probably about 11.30. Got a massive hit and run on the first drop, only for it to spit the hook when I stupidly released the pressure on the line after about a minute into the fight. Had a few other hits, but no hook up over the next half hour. By this stage I got the sheets with all the anchor noise. I guess it's correct etiquette to drop the anchor by bashing as much chain on the side of the boat as humanly possible? Then up anchor 5 min later and try again 15m away from the last spot?
Moved to another spot as far away from the boats as possible (although, that didn't last long!). Little one landed an undersized squire then netted my only catch of the day. It went about 43-45cm (ruler only goes to 40, and couldn't be bothered unrolling the brag mat). Was good fun on the 1-3kg stick!
Took a couple of pics, and sent it back (already had dinner plans for the next couple of nights)....
Beautiful and fun day out on the water. Only soured by me breaking about 6.5cm of tip of off the 1-3kg rod I was using. I guess I now know why they nick name that brand 'snapstick's'!
Cheers!
