I use google chrome now for everything. Much better than Firefox once you get used to it

Can you see it saying waiting for cgi-gstatic.com ?
Fishhunter, as you are with Optus it seems you will get this problem. Not sure with other ISP's but looks like Optus is blocking gstatic, which is a Google domain, and this stops the pages from loading.
See if you can talk to someone at Optus about it.

I use Telstra cable broadband, and Firefox 5.0. It loads without any trouble, so as Steve says, it's probably your provider.

I'am with iprimus and do have the problem with gstatic but it does freeze on a lot of other pages. I unistalled FFox 5 and reinstalled FFox 4 but the problem remained. I have been using Google Chrome now for about 10 days and it appears to be going fine.
I installed google chrome tonite and the problem has disappeared so its definitely Firefox related.

I use firefox and don't have the problem. Seems it is a combination of optus and firefox. Did you talk to optus customer service about it?

not yet, Chrome seems to be ok so I will see how that goes for a while, its definitely faster than firefox.

Pages are loading better but some are still hanging. Stop and refresh the page once only seems to load the full page.
The pages are hanging on different load/read information.
Logged out from Google Chrome and logged back in with Firefox. Mucked about in the forum for about 30 mins and the page hung twice. The line it hung on was " Read pagead2.googlesyndication.com" Hope this helps.
Regards.
Bob.
